Our main areas of concern going into the project quickly became non-issues with Clark. These concerns included the most obvious and common concerns of a large remodeling project: budget and time. Clark was 100% on budget with his estimate, and we only exceeded the project timeframe by one day, which was due to our schedule, not Clark’s. We are completely satisfied with the finished product and get great comments on the kitchen. We are planning to use Clark again on future projects.

Clark Smith Construction completed a remodel on my home in Edina’s Country Club District in 2003. As a Realtor, I had heard numerous horror stories about contractors making promises to get the job and then not following through. This did not happen with Clark Smith! He utilized his engineering background and wisdom and completed an inspection on our home to ascertain foreseeable problems. We were made aware of these issues before any papers were signed or commitments made. Clark was always on task and surpassed my expectations. He was innovative and thorough. Three years later there is not one thing I would have done differently and enjoy my remodel completely.

We hired Clark a few years ago to perform a complete kitchen remodel and add a 700 square foot family room. In addition, we upgraded various finishes in all parts of the house. Remodel projects are difficult, but Clark performed exceptionally well. The project started and was completed on schedule. Clark’s initial estimate was accurate and any change orders were requested by us and priced by Clark prior to any work starting. The construction zone was always clean and tidy. Finally, Clark stopped by around a year later for an unrelated reason, and saw some cracking in the drywall that we didn’t really notice. Clark repaired it at no cost. Clark delivered what every home owner wants: on-time, on budget, and quality work.

We used Clark Smith Construction for a major renovation of our walkout basement. I recommend them highly!! The work was completed according to budget and timeline. Clark and all of his subcontractors and colleagues were wonderful. They were thoughtful, committed to the project, and respectful of our home. The work was excellent from the invisible details to the artist-quality handrail created for the stairwell. I would not have anyone else do work on my home!

We are extremely happy with Clark’s work. He did two projects for us — our kitchen and our lower level. We hope to hire him again for our next project — our upstairs. Clark’s work is first rate.
